What to confirm before paying

Match credits to billable services

Prepare a breakdown of your intended EC2, storage, database, AI and other usage. Ask which charges the particular grant covers and which remain payable. Do not assume every AWS charge is eligible.

Check the grant’s restrictions

Read the AWS Promotional Credit Terms and any grant-specific conditions. Do not treat a code, billing screenshot or account invitation as proof that buying or transferring the credit is permitted.

Understand the account arrangement

Ask which account holds the credit, who controls billing, and whether your workloads would have to move. Confirm responsibility for any costs outside the credit and access to your resources.

Budget for usable value

Compare the remaining validity with your eligible monthly spend. Include migration work, operational overhead and uncovered charges when judging a quoted discount.

Will an AWS credit cover my entire AWS bill?

Do not assume it will. Ask for the applicable services, exclusions, remaining balance and expiry for that particular grant, then compare them with your planned bill.

Is joining an AWS organisation proof a purchase is permitted?

No. An account or billing configuration does not by itself establish permission to purchase credits. Confirm the proposed arrangement against the applicable AWS agreement before proceeding.
