Sell unused Anthropic Claude credits

Claude API credits sit against an organisation in the Anthropic Console, and Anthropic's commercial terms restrict assignment. The workspace structure does, however, make one legitimate arrangement easier to document here than on most platforms.

Free to submit, no asking price needed, and a written reply in 24–48 hours.

Which kind of Anthropic credit do you have?

These are issued under different terms, and the differences decide whether a sale is even possible.

Prepaid Claude API credits
Purchased up front against your organisation to cover API usage. The typical surplus case is a team that budgeted for a launch, bought ahead, and then changed model provider or shelved the project.
Programme and startup credits
Granted through startup and partner programmes. Attached to the accepted organisation and subject to the programme's own conditions in addition to the commercial terms.

What moves the value of Anthropic credits

We do not publish a percentage, because there is no index price and anyone quoting one before seeing your listing is guessing. These are the factors that actually decide it.

  • Workspaces and spend limits

The Console lets you scope API keys and spend limits to a workspace. That makes a managed-spend arrangement easier to bound and audit here than on platforms with no equivalent, which is worth something to a cautious buyer.

  • Rate limits and usage tier

Throughput is governed by your organisation's tier, not by the balance. A buyer with a latency-sensitive or high-volume workload will care about this before they care about the discount.

  • Model availability

Which Claude models the organisation can call, and at what limits, determines whether a buyer's workload will actually run. Confirm specifics rather than assuming parity with your own setup.

  • Time to expiry

As with every provider, a balance a buyer cannot consume before it lapses is worth much less than its face value.

Check these before you talk to a buyer

  • Credit balance and expiry from Plans and Billing
  • The organisation that holds the credit, and who administers it
  • Current rate limits and usage tier
  • Which Claude models the organisation has access to
  • Whether workspace-scoped keys and spend caps could bound an arrangement
  • What Anthropic's commercial terms say about assignment before you proceed

Anthropic credit questions

Can I sell unused Anthropic Claude credits?

Not as a standalone balance. Claude API credit is held against an organisation in the Anthropic Console and consumed by that organisation's API keys, so there is no transferable code. Anthropic's commercial terms also restrict assignment. What can sometimes be documented is a managed-spend arrangement, where the buyer's workload runs under keys scoped to a workspace with an explicit spend cap, governed by a written agreement between you. Whether that is permitted in your case depends on your agreement with Anthropic, which you should read first.

Does the workspace feature make a managed-spend arrangement safer?

It makes it easier to bound, which is not the same as making it permitted. Because you can scope API keys to a workspace and set spend limits on it, both sides can see exactly what was consumed and cap exposure — which removes a lot of the ambiguity that makes these arrangements go wrong elsewhere. That is a genuine practical advantage. It does not override Anthropic's commercial terms, and it does not substitute for a written agreement covering payment, what is being consumed and what happens if access stops.

What will a buyer ask about before agreeing?

Expect questions about your organisation's rate limits and usage tier, which Claude models are available to it, the remaining balance and its expiry, and how the arrangement would be structured and evidenced. A buyer moving real traffic is underwriting the risk that access stops partway through, so the ones worth dealing with ask detailed questions. Treat a buyer who asks none of this as a warning sign rather than an easy deal.

Do you guarantee an Anthropic credit transfer will work?

No, and nobody honestly can. We do not guarantee that any credit on any platform is transferable. Part of our review is telling you when we think a permitted route does not exist, which on prepaid API credit is often the conclusion. If you want a definitive answer for a large balance, the reliable path is to ask Anthropic directly what they will allow rather than relying on us or on a buyer's assurance.
