Sell unused Google Cloud credits

Google Cloud credits attach to a Cloud Billing account rather than to a project, and billing accounts can be linked and relinked to projects. That structure creates arrangements that look mechanically simple, which is exactly why the terms deserve a careful read first.

Free to submit, no asking price needed, and a written reply in 24–48 hours.

Which kind of Google Cloud credit do you have?

These are issued under different terms, and the differences decide whether a sale is even possible.

Google for Startups Cloud Program credits
Tiered grants for accepted startups, attached to the enrolled organisation's billing account and subject to the programme terms as well as the platform terms.
Free trial credits
The introductory credit on a new account. Time-boxed, tied to the account that received it, and not transferable. If this is your balance there is nothing to sell.
Marketing development funds and partner credits
Issued to partners for specific purposes under a partner agreement. The permitted use is defined by that agreement, which generally does not contemplate resale.
Committed use discounts
A commitment to spend in exchange for a lower rate, not a credit balance. It cannot be sold as an asset, though it does affect what your account costs to run.

Where to check your balance

Google Cloud Console → Billing → Credits, which lists each credit with its scope, remaining amount and expiry. Pay attention to the scope column in particular: GCP is the provider where SKU, service and region restrictions are most likely to quietly limit what a credit can cover.

What moves the value of Google Cloud credits

We do not publish a percentage, because there is no index price and anyone quoting one before seeing your listing is guessing. These are the factors that actually decide it.

  • SKU, service and region scope

GCP credits are frequently restricted to particular services, SKUs or regions. A scoped credit can only offset a buyer's spend in that same shape, which often narrows the pool of buyers sharply.

  • Billing account structure

Because credits attach to a billing account and projects link to billing accounts, the mechanics of an arrangement differ from account-level transfers elsewhere. Mechanically possible is not the same as permitted.

  • Programme conditions

Startup and partner credits carry programme terms on top of the platform terms, and those conditions usually define an intended use that resale falls outside.

  • Time to expiry

Scoped credits with short runways are the hardest to place, because the buyer has to have matching workloads ready to move immediately.

Check these before you talk to a buyer

  • Each credit's scope — services, SKUs and regions it applies to
  • Remaining amount and expiry per credit line, not in aggregate
  • Which Cloud Billing account holds the credit
  • Which projects are linked to that billing account today
  • The programme the credit came from and its specific conditions
  • What the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service say about transfer

Google Cloud (GCP)’s own terms

Read these rather than taking our word for it. We do not guarantee that any credit is transferable, and your agreement with Google Cloud (GCP) governs what you may do.

Google Cloud credit questions

Are Google Cloud credits transferable?

Not as a standalone balance. GCP credits are applied to a Cloud Billing account and the platform terms restrict transfer, with programme credits carrying further conditions of their own. Because projects link to billing accounts, some arrangements are mechanically straightforward — which is precisely the trap. That something is technically easy to do does not mean your agreement with Google permits it, and Google can withdraw credits if it concludes the terms were breached. Read the terms and the programme conditions before you act on what the console lets you click.

Can I sell Google for Startups Cloud Program credits?

These are attached to the organisation accepted into the programme and are governed by the programme terms on top of the platform terms. Those terms define an intended use, and reselling the credit generally falls outside it. We will review a balance and give you an honest read, but a programme credit is one of the less likely candidates for a permitted route. If the balance is large enough to matter, asking Google directly is more reliable than any assurance a broker or buyer can give you.

What does the scope column on my credits mean for value?

It is often the difference between a placeable balance and an unplaceable one. If a credit only applies to specific services, SKUs or regions, it can only offset a buyer's spend of that same shape. A buyer whose workload sits in another region or on other services cannot use it at any discount. Before assuming a balance is worth its face value, read the scope on each credit line and consider how narrow a buyer it implies.

Are free trial credits worth anything?

No. The introductory credit on a new Google Cloud account is time-boxed and tied to the account that received it, and it is not transferable. There is nothing to sell, and anyone offering to buy it either does not understand the product or is not dealing straight with you. If that is the balance you are looking at, you can stop here and save yourself the effort.
